It is all becoming so real now! I sent off my passport to get my Ugandan visa, I schedule my immunizations, I called the Habitat for Humanity travel agency - I'm actually going to Uganda! Also, I got my trip itinerary and accomodations:
August 10: Depart from home
August 12: Arrive at Entebbe Airport, Uganda; travel to Muterere.
August 13-14: Rest and Relaxation activities
August 15-25: Building on site and various cultural activities in the evenings
August 26: Depart from Entebbe
August 27: Arrive home
We will be living in a local house within the community which is safely enclosed. There is a security unit quite close so we will be perfectly safe. The house has no running water or flush toilets. We will be using water from a nearby borehole for all our bathroom and laundry needs. The team will also use a squat pit latrine for our toilet needs. Breakfast, evening tea and dinner will be provided where we are staying. Lunch will be provided on site by the homeowner.
